Margaret first started painting in England in 1982 when her husbandís job took her to the UK for a few years. She attended workshops in the Cotswolds with the renowned artist John Bockley and local evening classes. During her time in the UK she gained commissions painting farms, cottages and elegant residences in rural Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

On returning to Australia she rejoined the workforce for a few years where her painting was largely limited to dabbling in finger paint while caring for pre-schoolers in day care!

She is a regular attendee at the annual art summer school at Charles Sturt University at Bathurst. Margaret has work-shopped with Jenny Macnaughton out on the red soil plains of western NSW and at Dorrigo. She has also worked with the Willandra group of artists in and around Sydney.

Since moving to the mountains she now paints with the watercolour group of the Blackheath Art Society and is a member of the Combined Elements, a group of arts and craft people, who exhibit twice a year. Margaret is a founding partner of the collective which owns and exhibits at The Gallery Blackheath.

A love of country, skies, wide open spaces and trees inspire her work.
